AL JASSASIYA WHITE BEACH PALACE

AL JASSASIYA-NORTH-EASTERN COASTLINE OF QATAR

Architect's Vision
The goal of the master plan is to maximize the potential of the site by providing extensive sea and beach views to all the principal external and internal ‘living’ spaces and to provide a fascinating and complex processional route from the main entrance gate to the sea view locations.
The Main Palace building is positioned at the center of the site against the edge of the white sand beach, Its ground level is at +3.50 meters, which positions it above the beach, and it is surrounded on the east, west, and south sides by a manmade ‘dry wadi’ which creates an ‘island’ for the Palace.
The Palace is divided into two parts; with the ‘public’ functions to the east, and the ‘private’ functions to the west, each with its own entrance plazas.
The Palace has a marina, projecting out into the sea, from the east side of the building. It is positioned to maximize the sea views from the Palace. Adjacent to the Palace ‘island’, to the east and the west of the dry wadi, are two informal groups of six chalets.
The main entrance gate is on the southwest corner of the site, and the route to the Palace follows a lazy ‘S’-curved processional route through the undulating levels and varied planting of the landscape design.
